Ex-Getaway star fails in AVO bid

Magistrate dismisses an AVO application by Kelly Landry against estranged husband Anthony Bell.

Former Getaway star Kelly Landry has failed in her bid to have an Apprehended Violence Order placed on estranged husband, accountant Anthony Bell.

She had alleged he was abusive, withheld money from her and assaulted her twice during their five-year marriage. Bell denied all allegations.

Magistrate Robert Williams said he was not satisfied she needed it for her protection but accepted that in November the pair got into an argument and Landry went into her bedroom and locked the door.

“There appears to be little if no opportunity of future incidents,” Mr Williams said.

Bell told media he wanted to now focus on his “two beautiful children”.

“The ultimate part is I’m pleased justice has prevailed, I’m very much looking forward to getting on with my life and my children’s lives.”

The case drew salacious headlines amongst Sydney press and NRL Footy Show star Erin Molan was dragged into the story, but vehemently denied any inappropriate relationship with Bell.
