House Rules leads entertainment shows, Nine wins Wednesday.

Ratings: A Liverpool / Sydney FC match lifts ABC2 -and Today beats Tom Cruise on Sunrise.

House Rules won its timeslot last night for Seven with 936,000 viewers up on last Wednesday’s 807,000 beating MasterChef‘s 845,000 and Britain’s Got Talent on 640,000.

The real story here is that Nine managed to address its ailing share by bumping The Last Resort -it played in just two cities in a later slot.

The Weekly with Charlie Pickering on at 8:30 with 587,000, a slight dip, ahead of The Aussie Property Flippers and This is Us.

Both Seven News and A Current Affair won their slots.

But there was no lamb roast for Tom Cruise at Sunrise, pipped by Today 307,000 to 299,000.

ABC2 shares were up thanks to a Liverpool v Sydney match at 174,000 while a Roger Moore film lifted 9GEM.

Seven led in primary shares but Nine network won with 28.3% then Seven 27.6%, TEN 19.9%, ABC 17.0% and SBS 7.1%.

Nine News (1.1m / 1.06m) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (883,000), Britain’s Got Talent (640,000) and Hot Seat (585,000 / 345,000). The Footy Show was 239,000 in 3 cities. The Last Resort was 172,000 in 2 cities.

Seven News led for Seven with 1.1m / 1.00m then House Rules (936,000), Home and Away (710,000), The Chase (661,000 / 431,000), The Aussie Property Flippers (502,000). The Big Bang Theory was 243,000.

MasterChef Australia led for TEN with 845,000 followed by The Project (627,000 / 412,000), TEN Eyewitness News (507,000), This is Us (439,000) and Family Feud (412,000). Madam Secretary drew 195,000.

On ABC it was ABC News (677,000), The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (587,000), Anh’s Brush with Fame (512,000), 7:30 (493,000), You Can’t Ask That (440,000) and The Warriors (204,000). Adam Hills: The Last Leg was just 159,000.

Tony Robinson’s Coast to Coast (289,000) topped the night for SBS then SBS World News (154,000) and a double Fargo (131,000). The Young Pope was 67,000.

Go Jetters led multichannels with 212,000.

  1. Great to see The Spy who Loved Me rated well for Gem.

    Considering the late change.

    Love it when networks do this in memory of a departed star.

    Another example I think was Willy Wonka when Gene Wilder passed.
