“No parent should ever have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life.”

Jimmy Kimmel makes an emotional plea following a personal emergency surrounding his new son, 'Billy.'

Jimmy Kimmel has given a lengthy and emotional monologue on his show after a personal emergency surrounding his new son ‘Billy’ -including a political point on Obamacare at the end.

“We need to take care of each other,” he pleaded. “No parent should ever have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life. It just shouldn’t happen. Not here.”

Jimmy and his wife Molly welcomed their second child together, William “Billy” Kimmel. At three days old, Billy had successful open heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and is now home with his family. Jimmy opens up about his son’s birth and health complications and encourages donations to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where Billy and so many other kids get such wonderful care… chla.org/donate.

  1. And I’m sure the bank balance is a huge concern to Kimmel…. Tired of these types attempting to group themselves with the “common folk”.

    1. He’s using his fame to send a powerful message – he didn’t have to do that. How can you criticise him for trying to make a positive difference? He acknowledged that they could afford the operation unlike others.

    2. What an idiotic statement to make about a celebrity making the general population aware of both a personal tragedy and US issues. Is he just supposed to sit there drinking champagne in a mansion?
