Renewed: Quantico, Code Black, New Girl. Axed: The Odd Couple.

More new on US titles that screen here on Seven & TEN.

Another round of renewals & axings from the US:

Quantico, starring Priyanka Chopra, has been renewed for a shortened 13-episode third season, with showrunner and creator Josh Safran exiting. A search is underway for a new showrunner. When adding in seven days of DVR, season two averaged 5 million total viewers.

Medical drama Code Black returns for a third season. The series has enjoyed decent ratings, but nevertheless ranked as one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted series at 6 million viewers per episode.

Both Quantico and Code Black screen on Seven network in Australia.

Meanwhile New Girl has been renewed for a seventh and final season. Starring Zooey Deschanel, the show is FOX’s longest-running live-action comedy. It is rumoured to be returning for a shortened eight-episode but FOX declined to comment.

As expected The Odd Couple is officially over after three seasons.

Both New Girl and The Odd Couple screen in Australia on TEN network.

  1. I watched Quantico’s first season but it got pretty terrible towards the end. The lead actress is very nice to look at, though. Didn’t bother with season 2

  2. Great news about Quantico, hopefully 7 will bring it back some day. Glad about Code Black, had heard rumours it may be cancelled when it wasn’t renewed with other shows earlier in the year.

  3. When is Quantico returning to Seven (one of the channels)?

I watched most of Season 1…

But then lost track with all the timeslot/schedule/channel changes.

It was a good mystery-thriller TV show, would like to go back to the start of Season 2.

Plus7 only keep episodes for a limited time too.

  4. It would’ve been the perfect place to end new girl, but there can never be enough good comedies on TV so I applaud the renewal.

The Odd Couple— I never anticipated watching it but I often laughed at it, not a bad attempt at redoing a classic, that redid an almost classic.

    1. The Odd Couple wasn’t too bad, it was something you could have on the TV while doing something else and compared to what the other channels serve up as late night filler, it was good.

        1. I thought the new (to me) Thomas Lennon was excellent as Felix, Wendell Pierce was good (as always) as Teddy, Geoff Stults was very convincing as a dumb, oversexed sportsman and the 2 girls were neither good nor bad.
Matthew Perry was far better as Chandler Bing, but he launched the show, so he had to be there. It was a nice change to have the star’s main girlfriend older than him, and I’ve been in love with Teri Hatcher since Lois and Clark.
