Renewed: The Exorcist, Fresh Off the Boat

US titles screening on Showcase and FOX8 will return.

The Exorcist, a small-screen series inspired by the 1973 horror film, has been renewed for a second series.

The psychological thriller, following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession, will open a new chapter of the iconic franchise. Writer Jeremy Slater indicated at the conclusion of Season 1, that he has “a lot more story to tell” if the series was renewed. It airs in Australia on Showcase.

Meanwhile comedy series Fresh Off the Boat wins a fourth season. It has been averaging 5.2 million US viewers. It airs in Australia on FOX8 and ELEVEN.

  1. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good The Exorcist was. Happy for a second season. Was also impressed by the very deftly revealed detail regarding Father Keane’s personal life in the last moments of the finale.
