Due to screen last night, Challenger Disaster: The Lost Tapes, has been rescheduled to 10pm Sunday June 11 on Nine.

This was held over due to news updates on London attacks.

30 years after it happened, take a look back at the compelling story of Space Shuttle Challenger’s ill-fated 1986 flight with recently discovered lost tapes and rare footage.

  1. Did you know that the original colour video tape of Neil Armstrong walking on the moon in 1969 was stolen from NASA? The only film of it that remains is the fuzzy black and white kinescope which was filmed off a TV set during the broadcast and which has been shown ever since.

    1. I don’t follow what that has to do with the Challenger Disaster, Neil Armstrong wasn’t on the Challenger and this took place 17 years after Neil walked on the moon.
Besides Apollo 11 was broadcast live around the world, every network that existed at the time would have a copy the one small step.
