Report: Amber Harrison settles deal with former law firm

Updated: Amber Harrison denies a deal is done regarding rift with her former law firm.

Amber Harrison has settled a dispute with her former law firm Harmers, which arose after it represented her before the Human Rights Commission.

The Daily Telegraph reports Ms Harrison won’t have to pay a hefty legal bill and has agreed not to take future legal action against the firm.

Harrison hired Harmers when she was about to be dismissed from Seven, reaching two settlements with Seven, one that paid her $100,000 to leave after the affair with CEO Tim Worner and a subsequent $366,000 negotiation.

But her relationship with Harmers soured over $330,000 in legal bills and a failed action before the Human Rights Commission.

Ms Harrison is now instructing another law firm Patron Legal whilst Julian Burnside, QC, has been representing her in a Supreme Court case in with Seven.

In April the court ordered the parties mediate a settlement.
