American Crime Story delayed

Hurricane Katrina drama out until next year -but there is a silver lining.

Another US show was this week confirmed to be holding off a 2017 broadcast.

American Crime Story will delay its second season, surrounding Hurricane Katrina, until next year.

But FX will air 2 seasons in 2018 with The Assassination Of Gianni Versace now set to air as Season 2.

Ryan Murphy, who won rave reviews for The People vs OJ Simpson, has indicated the delay is allow for to additional time to create special water effects needed to re-create Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Featuring Matthew Broderick, Dennis Quaid, and Annette Bening, the series will now shoot in 2018.

Meanwhile the Gianni Versace saga will star Penelope Cruz, Ricky Martin, Max Greenfield, Darren Criss and Édgar Ramírez.

A fourth season on the Monica Lewinsky scandal is in development.

In the past week UnREAL was also announced as no longer screening in 2017.
