Bachelor in Paradise to resume filming

Internal investigation clears cast members of misconduct, but Aussie Keira Maguire is not joining filming.

US reality series Bachelor in Paradise this week confirmed it would resume filming after an internal investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing by a cast member, production officials said.

The bulk of the cast that was sent home from the show’s Puerto Vallarta, Mexico location will return to shoot additional episodes.

The spin-off of the Bachelor / Bachelorette series was suspended earlier this month after allegations of misconduct on the set surfaced.

Cast member Corinne Olympios said she was victimised by an incident that took place at the secluded Mexican beachside resort. Warner Bros., which produces Bachelor in Paradise, said in a statement that recordings of the incident show no cast member was ever put in harm’s way.

“The tape does not support any charge of misconduct by a cast member. Nor does the tape show, contrary to many press reports, that the safety of any cast member was ever in jeopardy,” the statement said.

“Production on this season of Bachelor in Paradise will be resuming, and we plan to implement certain changes to the show’s policies and procedures to enhance and further ensure the safety and security of all participants.

Australia’s Keira Maguire, who says she was invited to appear, will no longer be a part of the “tacky” show.

“I think with the whole situation, it just doesn’t sound like something I want to be a part of,” Maguire told Fairfax Media.

“When I got the phone call saying the show was cancelled, it felt a bit like a blessing in disguise,” said Maguire.

“With the events that happened, it made me look at it from a different angle… I definitely won’t be going on the show.”

It appears unlikely, however, that Corinne Olympios and Demario Jackson — the two cast members involved in the incident that brought production to a halt — will be back. Both have secured attorney representation and have implied possible legal action.
