Emilia Clarke rules out GoT spin-off for Daenerys

"I am doing one more season. And then that'll be it," says Game of Thrones star.

There are some 5 different Game of Thrones in concurrent development with various writers.

Let’s hope they are across this news.

Emilia Clarke says she will be done playing Daenerys Targaryen after next season.

“I have no doubt there’ll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But I am doing one more season. And then that’ll be it,” she told Rolling Stone.

“There’s going to be a shake-up of my identity, I think. And I feel like I’m only going to understand what the last seven years has been when we stop,” Emilia said. “It makes me emotional to think about.”

I guess we know she survives S7 then.

Season 7 debuts on July 17 and according to Clarke, “It’s a really interesting season in terms of some loose ends that have been tied, some really satisfying plot points, some things where you’re like, ‘Oh, my God. I forgot about that!’ Rumours are going to be confirmed or denied.”

  1. I had assumed that a prequel wouldn’t be about any of the principal characters and as much as I love most of them I’m happy to see those stories played out and focus instead on a secondary character like the Queen of Thornes (or Hot Pie ?).

  2. I’m not sure I like the idea of sequels and prequels it sounds like the cast had a gutful working in freezing Irish moors and said enough is enough but not so the producers who must see a dollar or two left in the show yet. Spin-offs don’t always live up to expectation and can ruin the universe created.
