Tales of the City revival rumoured

Armistead Maupin’s LGBT melodrama is set to be revived 25 years after its original miniseries.

Tales of the City is ripe for a revival, set 25 years after its original miniseries.

Netflix is reportedly developing Armistead Maupin’s San Francisco LGBT melodrama, with original cast members Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis to return.

The new iteration would be a modern take on the series, possibly to be shot in San Francisco.

The first of nine books in Maupin’s books explore “alternative lifestyles” and “underground” culture in San Francisco in the 1970s. Maupin is set to return as executive producer.

The miniseries first aired in 1993 and later in 1998 & 2001.

Netflix declined comment.
