ThinkTV appoints Director of Research

Former Nine research expert joins Free to Air & STV marketing group.

Free to Air and STV marketing group ThinkTV has appointed Steve Weaver as its Director of Research, Insights and Education.

He was most recently as group director of audience science and analytics at Nine Entertainment, where he acted as director of research for 11 years. He also served as chairman of  OzTAM for two years.

At ThinkTV he will manage the organisation’s research program, designed to help advertisers and agencies.

CEO Kim Portrate said, “He has also been a part of the TV community for many years, and has seen TV evolve into the anywhere, anytime multi-platform media it is today.

“We are delighted to have him on board as we prepare our packed research schedule for ThinkTV’s second year.”

“I am excited to be able to work with a united industry body that is dedicated to providing advertisers and their agencies with empirical, fact-based research that will support ThinkTV’s mission to help them get the very best out of today’s multi-platform TV,” said Weaver.

“Our program will continue to focus on providing full transparency into the effectiveness of various media platforms and tackle other crucial subjects that will generate valuable insights into the constantly evolving media landscape.”

Weaver’s appointment is effective immediately.
