New arvo bulletin for Seven in Adelaide

Rosanna Mangiarelli to host a new one hour bulletin, in addition to Today Tonight.

Seven News will launch a new local hour long 4pm bulletin, hosted by Rosanna Mangiarelli beginning Monday, July 31.

She will host both the 4pm bulletin and Today Tonight at 6.30pm weeknights.

Seven News‘ dominance in Adelaide is well-entrenched, having won for 16 successive years, with Today Tonight enjoying 650 consecutive weekly wins in survey.

Seven Adelaide Director of News and Public Affairs, Graham Archer, said: “Seven’s phenomenal domination in Adelaide is credit to our stellar local team of presenters, reporters, camera operators, editors and studio crew.

“In extending our local brand to 4pm we underpin our loyalty to Adelaide viewers with increased and in depth analysis of what’s happening in our state, delivered by the best team in town.”

  1. I suspect this might do well with the streaming crowd on mobile phones and tablets if it’s promoted right locally.

A lot of people start to head home around 4pm in Adelaide. I will probably stream this myself on days when I leave for home at 4pm

I wish the 7live app (or plus7) could support an audio only feed in app settings so that people at work can just listen to the news through headphones. It would be useful for the 6pm bulletins as well (eg walking down the street you don’t want your screen pumping live video out of your pocket)

TV News tends to be more comprehensive than radio news, except for the govt broadcasters (BBC, ABC, etc)

    1. It’s a factor but in Perth & Adelaide it runs much deeper than sports codes. Some of it goes back to when WIN owned affiliates but didn’t spend much on local production, which constantly frustrated Nine.

  2. Rosanna Mangiarelli is amazing at what she does but do we really need more “News” on Australian TV??? People from overseas who visit here must think that all we watch here is News, Cooking shows, House makeover shows and TBBT….
