  1. MC finale was good viewing and for me I was happy with the result but next year they really need to go back to live results rather than pre recorded ones

  2. Have been uncharacteristically drawn into watching NW by my son’s enthusiasm for it.
Hope baby faced “Tarzan” wins so as to rub it in to all those gym junkies out there.

  3. Tried to stay awake for HYBPA but failed dismally. Will have to try and navigate gate Tenplay and sit through the same 6 ads every time no doubt.

  4. I have a feeling that Having Nat hosting Sunrise is creating a Ratings boost! I think CH7 executives need to consider her as a permananent host she is very good!

    1. I totally agree with you. Nat is really natural. Sam does not resonate and come across on camera as genuine IMO. And I am sure Koch appears happier with Nat

  5. Masterchef did a lot better than I thought it would i was thinking around 900k seven waved the white flag ang got what they deserved bring on survivor

    1. I have too, but managed to miss two due to late overruns and not keeping up with the epg. I couldn’t be bothered with 9Now. I assume that was the season final since the ‘Karl show’ is on next Monday?

      1. I missed the last two Habibs eps (before last night) and used 9Now to catch up last night. Seamless experience! No buffering & audio and video was in sync…still some ads repetition, but not the same every ad break. I thought I would get better targeted ads since I’m providing my Facebook data through login. But anyway,I think this the last two have been the best of the season

  6. Very disappointing to see The Winner Announced beating Ninja Warrior in Melbourne. This could possibly be put down to Sydney being healthier, more athletic and sporty while Melbourne has a reputation for gluttony and unhealthy lifestyles. Also disappointed to see an old reality franchise beat something which is innovative and new.

    1. Sorry, I had to laugh at the comment that Ninja Warrior is “innovative and new.” It got old for me during the first episode.

Additionally, there has been god knows how many obstacle course based shows (It’s a Knockout, Gladiators, Wipeout, etc. You could include Survivor with its challenges) and there is nothing that Ninja Warrior is doing that those shows haven’t done prior.

Additionally, you are looking at one city’s ratings. Ninja Warrior still won the night across the 5 cities, isn’t that good enough for you?

    1. Wait, there are new episode of Highway Patrol? When I watch HP, it always looks like the same thing every episode and I thought that they just air the same episode every time it is scheduled.

      1. You jest – but I’m not so sure you’re wrong. I think it works like this…

        – the flashing lights in the opening credits hypnotise you
        – the voiceover from then on intones “this … is … a … new … episode” backwards, in 7 different languages
        – the flashing rolling numbers & technical ‘plinking’ sound send you into an even more suggestive state just before each ad break

… though I’m not sure. I’ve never been able to stay awake long enough to confirm any of it…

  7. That’s a pretty good result, everything considered, for Ten.

To be honest, I worried it could be lower (House Rules finale was stuffed-up!)

Winner Announced was the top program in Melbourne too and won the key demos in two markets.

    1. Yes, TEN would be happy with the results- they came up against new format juggernaut this year, yet still did well in the demos. Not bad for a 9 year old show.
Now to see how Marco does over on 7. I have a feeling the celebrity angle won’t help in any way, and audience might be “cooked out”.

        1. I love cooking and never watch these, I prefer food shows with something more interesting e.g. Kitchen Cabinet, or Landline. Currently enjoying the Aussie version of River Cottage, but that is as much about the community and sustainability.

          1. Not sure what Nine were thinking?

            Yet another cooking reality?

I know they do so well in the key demographics, but is it worth the potential fatigue, etc?
