  1. I, for the life of me can’t see why 10 decided to air the survivor launch at 7:30, when both other high rating shows started at 7. Hello ten! Is anyone even there anymore!?? If someone tunes in to watch something (at 7pm), they’re not going to stop watching and turn over at 7:30 half way through their program! For god sake, let me come make the desicions at 10.. I’ll get them back on track.

    • I understand your point but I am personally glad it starts at 7.30. Selfish reasons though – dinner, dishes & toddler in bed all before 7.30….then we can enjoy AS. If it started at 7 would have to tape it. 10 obviously have their reasons & aren’t too worried. MC aired at 7 one week & resumed to 7.30 thank goodness cos I missed the intro that week.

  2. Can’t blame seven for milking the Diana story and it obviously paid dividends and it obviously affected the block and survivor – and again ten suffers from 730 start and poor lead in

  3. Survivor was excellent, a shame it doesn’t get higher ratings! But those figures are on par with most of Ten’s other hit series like Masterchef and The Bachelor. Here’s hoping they continue to stay around that 600k figure, or even increase as the weeks continue!

That Luke character was entertaining, playing the game early!

  4. adelaide_john

“….constant bombardment of adverts …….to boost ratings”; sorry isn’t that the idea of TV, even though a tragic event

  5. I am so annoyed that Survivor didn’t do better. Such a great show yet people waste their time with the Block. I will never understand the appeal of the Block or why it gets 1.1 million viewers.

  6. Why is the The Block still popular?? Its the same old, same old. I thought Australian Survivor was great. Problem for Ten is their lead programs prior.

  7. Totally agree with Nik c, so over the Diana story, RIP. I totally enjoyed Survivor first time I have ever watched it. Weekend Today kicked Weekend Sunrise. Would really like Ten to buy the rights to Wentworth, they would kill the ratings if they could afford it.

  8. What a surprise ratings result for Seven. They’d be over the moon.

Even more surprising, was Survivor’s premiere ratings.

The Block could be doing a lot better in markets outside Melbourne, surely?

  9. Really surprised that 7’s awful Sunday Night segment rated it’s socks off! I feel that the constant bombardment of adverts on the Princess Diana story was in poor taste and seemed more like an attempt to boost ratings from a tragic event!

    • I concur with you- while i didn’t see the ep (i dont plan on watching it) the ads about it were terrible- can we now not have anymore segments, docs etc… about her- let her rest peacefully.
good numbers for the block- love it.
David are those numbers for the block down from previous years.
