US actress June Foray, best known for The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, has died, aged 99.

Friend Dave Nimitz, confirmed her death on Facebook, writing “With a heavy heart again I want to let you all know that we lost our little June today at 99 years old.”

Foray was the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Natasha Fatale in The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, but her impressive career spanned eight decades in radio, television, and film.

Some of her credits include Aunt May in The Amazing Spider-Man, Grandma Fu in Mulan, Granny and Witch Hazel in the Looney Tunes cartoons, and Jokey Smurf and Mrs. Sourberry in The Smurfs. Foray played Cindy Lou Who in the 1968 Grammy Award-winning cast of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. She also won a daytime Emmy for her part as Mrs. Cauldron in The Garfield Show and received four Annie Awards.

Foray died just two months shy of her 100th birthday.

  1. Ms Foray also guest starred in The Simpsons’ pilot episode. Her last credit was in 2014, indicating that that must have been around the point where her health would have been deteriorating beyond no return. May she rest in peace.
