Vince Colosimo returning to court in August

Actor charged with being behind the wheel while suspended from driving and under the influence of drugs.

Vince Colosimo will return to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in August after being caught behind the wheel while suspended from driving and under the influence of drugs, according to media reports.

Fairfax reports police confirmed a 50-year-old Carlton North man had been charged and his car impounded after officers intercepted a vehicle on Exhibition Street about 4.45pm on Sunday.

The Herald Sun reports a court case this week was adjourned, but he was not required to attend.

In January, the ex-Underbelly star was placed on a good behaviour bond for 12 months and asked to contribute $1000 to the court fund on a charge of possessing methamphetamine.

In 2014, he was fined $1000 without conviction and banned from driving for 14 days.

Under the Road Safety Act, a first suspended driving offence can attract up to four months’ jail or a fine of up to $4760. Subsequent offences can attract up to two years’ jail or a fine of up to $38,060.

Colosimo most recently appeared in ABC’s The Warriors and next appears in SBS drama Sunshine.
