WIN TV considering Ballarat move

TV sites ripe for redevelopment are not only confined to the big smoke.

WIN Television is mulling a relocation of its Ballarat site in Walker Street, but is yet to put the 2.1-hectare site on the market.

In November a planning permit application was lodged with the City of Ballarat to move the telecommunications tower from the centre of the property to the south east corner.

Ballarat Courier reports the application indicated WIN would remain a presence within Ballarat, staying at the current premises until an alternate suitable location is found.

A spokesperson told TV Tonight, “As a company, we are reviewing our locations. The relocation of WIN’s operations on Walker Street, Ballarat, is a key component within this strategy.

“We are considering options for relocating operations to better suit the technological demands of today’s TV industry. This will enable us to improve our service and commitment to audiences across regional Australia.”
