AFL Footy Show: Aug 10

Eddie McGuire returns as host for the first time in 12 years.

Tomorrow night Eddie McGuire returns as host of the AFL Footy Show alongside for the first time in 12 years, Rebecca Maddern and John “Sam” Newman.

The numbers will surely be up due to curiosity, and it will be interesting to see what other changes are made to the show under his watch.

Eddie joined Nine in 1994 as a sports commentator and a month later he was hosting The Footy Show. His vision to create an entertaining and informative AFL program has made it an eight-time Logie-winning, ratings phenomenon and must-watch Thursday night viewing.

TV’s most loveable larrikins, Billy Brownless, Shane Crawford and Dave Hughes, will all be back too, providing the laughs in a big way, while the best newsbreaker in the business, Damian Barrett, will continue to bring viewers the biggest stories week after week.

8.30pm Thursday night on Nine (Melb, Ade, Per).

  1. Honest to God is that the best presser Channel Nine could conjure up for arguably this show’s most important episode ever… perhaps they are trying to keep a lid on things and surprise people… but for all the noise about how different it will be (or endeavouring to get back to what it was whichever way you prefer to look at it), it just makes it sound like same old same old… but even more vanilla.
