Airdate: Story Time

Rove, Sam Johnson, Grant Denyer & Leigh Sales read books with Play School faves.

As part of Children’s Book Week, 2017, ABC KIDS premieres Story Time, a Play School series featuring celebrities reading picture books written by Australian authors, accompanied by Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima, Humpty and Joey.

The 6 x 5 minute series includes 2017 Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson, comedian Rove McManus, yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins, Family Feud host Grant Denyer, 7.30 host Leigh Sales and writer and actor Nakkiah Lui.

During each episode, the Magic Story Drawer will pop open to reveal a special clue leading to the book of the day. Following this discovery, each presenter will then make themselves comfy on the couch next to their favourite Play School toy and begin to read.

The seven books, selected from The Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Notables Book List include Zelda’s Big Adventure by Marie Alafaci and illustrated by Shane McG, Pig the Winner by Aaron Blabey, Snail and Turtle Rainy Days by Stephen Michael King, Ducks Away! by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, Goodnight, Mice! by Frances Watts and Judy Watson, Wombat Big Puggle Small by Renee Treml and Where is Bear? by Jonathan Bentley.

Episode 1: Rove McManus
Join comedian Rove McManus and Play School’s Little Ted as they read a story about a cheeky pug dog in Pig the Winner by Aaron Blabey. What mischief will ‘Pig the Pug’ get up to next?

Sunday August 20 at 5.45pm on ABC KIDS.
