Alan Partridge is returning to screens in the UK.
Steve Coogan will revive his iconic character in a special marking 25 years since his debut on BBC Radio in 1992.
A series will also air next year.
Coogan’s parody of a TV presenter has appeared in shows including Knowing Me, Knowing You and I’m Alan Partridge.
Shane Allen, Controller, BBC Comedy has confirmed said: “Alan Partridge is in the top tier of comedy characters of all time, it fills my comedy heart with joy to welcome him back to BBC One and BBC Two.”
No word on an Australian broadcast at this early stage.

I grew up listening to On The Hour and watching The Day Today – such a hotpot of amazing talent in Steve Coogan, Chris Morris, Armando Ianucci et al. Coogan still scores a “goooooooaaal!!!” with Alan Partridge every time.
