AWGIE Awards 2017: winners

Seven Types of Ambiguity, Rosehaven & Deep Water amongst wins at the 50th AWGIE Awards.

ABC shows including Seven Types of Ambiguity, Rosehaven, Fancy Boy, Streets of Your Town were amongst winners at the 50th Australian Writers’ Guild Awards in Sydney last night.

Deep Water won the Telemovie / Miniseries category and Home and Away took out the Serial category.

The big winner on the night was Leah Purcell taking out 3 awards including the David Williamson Prize for her stage play The Drover’s Wife.

Andrew Knight was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Julian Morrow received the Fred Parsons Award for Outstanding Contribution to Comedy and writer Kelly Lefever received the Richard Lane Award for  Outstanding Service and Dedication to the AWG.

Hacksaw Ridge and Lion were both feature film winners.
