Nine launches Sunshine Coast bulletin

Nine yesterday launched the last of 7 Queensland regional bulletins.

Nine News yesterday launched a local bulletin on the Sunshine Coast, the last of 7 new Queensland regional bulletins.

Encompassing Caloundra, Gympie, Maroochydore, Noosa, Maleny and neighbouring area it is presented by Samantha Heathwood, with sport from Paul Taylor & Nicole Rowles with weather.

Produced in Brisbane it draws upon local reporters and crews on the Sunshine Coast.

Last night Nine celebrated the launch at The Bluff Bar at Alex Surf Club, Alexandra Headland, with guests included 60 Minutes reporter Allison Langdon, CEO of Southern Cross Austereo Grant Blackley, Nine’s Director of Regional Mike Dalton and network Head of Publicity Victoria Buchan.

Mike Dalton said: “We’re excited to be introducing the Nine brand of local news to regional Queensland viewers. The Nine News brand has a proud history that stretches back 60 years. Queensland is the most decentralised state in Australia and our reporters are committed to start telling the stories of local communities.”

Nine has now launched four bulletins in NSW and four in Victoria.
