‘Wandin Valley’ hospital for sale

A slice of TV history is going under the auctioneer's hammer.

Oakville homestead “Clare House”, famously used as the “Wandin Valley Bush Nursing Hospital” in A Country Practice is up for sale.

The property north-west of Sydney, sits on 10,805 sqm with views  to the Blue Mountains.

Clare House is constructed of original full convict brick, there are period features throughout, with landscaped gardens, a dressage arena, new stables, and a secured utility vehicle storage area. It has had only 8 owners in almost 200 years.

Described as “one of a kind” it goes up for auction on September 16.

A Country Practice screened on Seven from 1981 to 1993 before a short-lived revival (filmed in Victoria) on TEN in 1994.

Most of the outdoors scenes of Wandin Valley were filmed in and around the Windsor area towns of Pitt Town and Ebenezer. Indoor scenes were filmed at Seven’s studios in Epping.
