AFL, Bachelor score on Thursday.

Ratings: AFL delivers big crowds for Seven while TEN's Bachelor tops entertainment stakes.

AFL Finals delivered a big win for Seven on Thursday, with the game pulling 909,000 viewers -nearly enough to top the night. On the primary channel in Sydney, with a local team, it was 91,000 -dwarfed by Melbourne’s 415,000.

TEN’s Bachelor was the top entertainment show for the night, extending all the way to 9:12pm. At 717,000 it was down slightly on last Thursday but still topped 2 demos. The Wrong Girl still saw a worrying drop with 325,000 in a later slot.

Nine’s schedule lacked a bit of spark but Nine News and ACA still won, albeit at 6:30 for the former.

ABC’s Pulse wrapped its season with 384,000 -will Timeshifted and  iview be enough for a renewal? SBS also saw a concerning drop at 8:30 for Secrets of the Kitchen – its “secrets” weren’t enough to lure in a crowd.

Seven network won Thursday with 35.4% then Nine 23.3%, TEN 20.4%, ABC 14.5% and SBS 6.4%.

      1. not really afl in sydney still in HD even the 2 sydney teams all year maybe the sydney derby was in HD , the gws and swans finals are on 7HD . afl in sydney is trated as a joke by the fta broadcaster so glad i have Foxtel just a shame in the final we have to listen to bias ch7 comms

  1. Have enjoyed Pulse and I am impressed with the diversity of ethnicity with the cast. I did notice though many actors appeared on Janet King! Despite this good on ABC for acknowledging there aren’t just white people in this country. Would love it to be renewed but figures on the ABC have not been strong with many of their dramas this year. Fingers crossed timeshifted figures help lift the likelihood of another season.

  2. While it’s not the result Seven/AFL hoped for, 91k is tied for the highest rating game in Sydney this year (with Adelaide vs Sydney some weeks ago).

Considering many said the game was over in the 2nd QTR & it was GWS.
