Former Seven News reporter Amy Taeuber took to social media yesterday to express her gratitude for supportive comments, following 7.30‘s story on Seven’s handling of her termination.

“Thank you to everyone for the overwhelming support. It means the world. To those that have emailed – I will try to get back to you all,” she wrote.

Taeuber settled her claim with Seven in February which the network says included a cash payment and confidentiality.

Seven denies she was sacked because she made a complaint about a colleague. Both News Corp and Fairfax have identified the male reporter, whom Seven says has apologised and moved to another newsroom.

Last night 7.30 did a follow-up story saying viewers were shocked by the report, and indicated both former and current Seven staff had contacted ABC expressing concerns about work culture. It did not detail further.

Following widespread coverage of the story, yesterday Seven issued a lengthy statement outlining procedures in the Taeuber case and defending its reputation.

It maintained Human Resources did not build a case against Taeuber and ABC’s report was not put to Seven West Media for reply.

Amy Taeuber now run public relations agency The PR Bible with sister Sophie Taeuber, also a former Seven reporter.
