And nothing of value was lost….
Indulgent E! series Mariah’s World is not returning for a second season.
An E! spokesperson told Variety “E!’s Mariah’s World was an eight-part event that chronicled her 2016 world tour. It was exciting to bring our viewers inside the private world of one of today’s most iconic stars as she returned to the stage last year.”
The series was originally commissioned when Carey was still betrothed to James Packer but mid-production the wedding was off, giving the show a whole new series arc. Packer only appeared briefly in outtakes with his representatives saying he was not involved in any reality series. So there.
In the US it debuted strongly with 2.2 million viewers but viewership fell off drastically from then on with the remaining episodes drawing between just 510,000 and 810,000 viewers each.
It also aired in Australia on E!

If the show had actually followed her tour it might have been OK but then it slipped into a “will they or won’t they” thing with the backup dancer and it was all over.
Nothing will beat the scene where MC was trying to act as if James Packer was on the phone delaying her wedding… hahaha still makes me laugh
