Deanne Weir to exit Foxtel

Foxtel executive director of channel aggregation and wholesale Deanne Weir is Foxtel at the end of September.
Weir joined Foxtel in April 2016 following 10 years at Austar prior to Foxtel. She has more than 25 years of media experience, including as the chair of Hoodlum and  previously chairing the Sydney Film Festival and Screen Australia’s Deputy Chair.
CEO Peter Tonagh told staff she would be returning to her entrepreneurial endeavours.
“During her time with us Deanne has had a significant impact; driving the Foxtel Now strategy and launch, leading our commercial relationship with Telstra and working closely with Brian (Walsh) and the content teams to review our content strategy and ensure that we have a content proposition that supports our Foxtel for Everyone strategy,” he said.
The Australian Financial Review reports Weir’s channel responsibilities are expected to be taken up by Brian Walsh and the wholesale responsibilities, related to Telstra, by director of IT transformation Stephen Butler.
