Rock Legends has a big list of classic performers showcased throughout October on Foxtel Arts.

Here’s the full list:

Wednesday October 11 at 6pm  – The Carpenters
A popular brother-and-sister team, the Carpenters sold millions of hit records in the early ’70s. Leading music critics cast fresh light on the career of The Carpenters.

Thursday October 12 at 6pm  – The Mamas And Papas
A four-piece folk act whose high harmonies and blend of easygoing, trippy originals with nicely stylized covers virtually soundtracked the late ’60s. Leading music critics cast fresh light on the career of The Mamas and Papas.

Monday October 16 at 6pm  – The Monkees
Formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the American television series The Monkees, which aired from 1966 to 1968. Leading music critics cast fresh light on the career of The Monkees.

Tuesday October 17 at 6pm  – Leonard Cohen
Rock Legends follows the career of Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen was born in 1934. An early writer and guitarist, Cohen began to compose and release folk-rock and pop songs by the mid-1960s.

Wednesday October 18 at 6pm  – Elvis Costello
British singer/songwriter Elvis Costello extended the lyrical range of punk and new wave music with songs like “Alison,” “Everyday I Write the Book” and “Veronica.” Leading music critics cast fresh light on the career of the Eagles.

Thursday October 19 at 6pm  – Dusty Springfield
Hailed as Britain’s “best ever pop singer” by Rolling Stone, the English-born Dusty Springfield charted several 1960s hits, including “Son of a Preacher Man.” Leading music critics cast fresh light on the career of Dusty Springfield.

Monday October 23 at 6pm  – Grateful Dead
Grateful Dead, mixed genres such as psychadelia, blues, folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll and jazz to create their incredibly unique rock sound. Known for changing set lists for each show.

Tuesday October 24 at 6pm  – The Pretenders
The Pretenders, originally three Englishmen and an American woman, emerged at the close of the ’70s as one of the new wave’s most commercially successful groups.

Wednesday October 25 at 6pm  – Jefferson Airplane
Jefferson Airplane was a rock band based in San Francisco, California, who pioneered psychedelic rock. Formed in 1965, the group defined the San Francisco Sound and was the first from the Bay Area to achieve international commercial success

Thursday October 26 at 6pm  – The Police
English new wave band formed in London in 1977. For most of their history the band consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar, primary songwriter), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums, percussion).

Friday October 27 @ 6pm  – Santana
American Latin rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1966 by Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana. The band first came to widespread public attention when their performance of “Soul Sacrifice” at Woodstock in 1969.

Monday October 30 at 6pm  – Creedence Clearwater Revivial
Thanks largely to John Fogerty’s rough, inimitable voice and seemingly bottomless supply of great melodies, Creedence Clearwater Revival were the preeminent American singles band of the late Sixties and early Seventies.

Tuesday October 31at 6pm  – Earth Wind And Fire
American band that has spanned the musical genres of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, pop, rock, Latin and African. They are one of the most successful bands of all time.
