TV Week editor to depart

Emma Nolan to depart Bauer magazine after 15 years as Editor.

TV Week editor Emma Nolan will depart the magazine to join Pacific Magazines-owned Who magazine from December.

She has more than 20 years with (predecessor) ACP / Bauer working in Foreign and Associate Editor roles on NW before taking over as Editor of TV Week in 2002.

“I feel honoured to have worked for such an iconic brand. I’ve worked with some amazing people at Bauer, and I’m very proud of the direction we have taken TV Week and the Logies over the past 15 years,” she said.

“I’d like to wish my colleagues and friends at Bauer Media continued success over the coming years.”

Jayne Ferguson, general manager, women’s lifestyle and entertainment said “Emma has been instrumental in maintaining TV Week’s position as the country’s no.1 TV magazine, reaching almost half a million readers every week. She has also been the driving force behind the TV Week Logie Awards for the past 15 years, which are today recognised as Australia’s leading TV and celebrity awards.

“We will miss her and wish her all the best for the future.”

Her replacement is yet to be announced.

  1. Not sure I’d be so “proud” of taking TV Week in a “direction” which sees it feature Seven Network personalities and shows on the cover 40 weeks out of the 52 each year.

Interestingly, over the last three months, there’s suddenly been a far greater variety of programs and personalities on the cover – wonder if it’s related to Emma’s departure?

  2. What is the current readership of TV Week I wonder? I remember about 20 years ago my family used to buy it religiously every Monday, but I couldn’t tell you the last time I have even spotted it for sale somewhere, or seen someone reading a copy.

  3. “the TV Week Logie Awards for the past 15 years, which are today recognised as Australia’s leading TV and celebrity awards”
I know the Logies are not the Emmys but “celebrity awards”? Not confident for the future of the Logies.
