Exclusive: US drama Gone, starring Chris Noth, will have its World Premiere in Australia.

EXCLUSIVE: New US crime drama Gone, starring Chris Noth, will have its World Premiere in Australia on the Universal channel next month.

The drama is a co-production between NBC Universal, Germany’s RTL and France’s TF1 but is yet to find a US network. It is slated for Australia at 8:30pm Monday November 13.

Based on Chelsea Cain’s novel One Kick, Gone sees Chris Noth star as FBI Agent Frank Nova, who rescues Kit “Kick” Lannigan (Leven Rambin). Years later after Kit trains in martial arts, Nova convinces her to join a special task force that soecialises in abductions and missing persons cases.

The cast also includes Danny Pino, Andy Mientus, Stephanie Bertoni, Gregory Bromfield and Christopher O’Shea. Creator Matt Lopez is also behind 2013 telemovie Gothica.

  1. I watched this. It was ok. Not sure about the lead. I didn’t warm to her. It looks like it could be a bit formulaic. I’m going to give it another few episodes and see.

If NBC doesn’t want to show a big budget drama with a major US TV star on either NBC or USA, and isn’t worried about English language copies being pirated before it airs in the US, there’s probably a reason. ITV allowed Loch Ness (The Loch) to air in Australia first because they had pulled it from their lineup to burn it off over Summer because it was absolutely awful.
