Airdate: Mega Race

Discovery will screen motoring event Mega Race across two channels in November as teams Fast N’ Loud and Street Outlaws go head-to-head in a grudge match.

Fast N’ Loud’s Richard Rawlings and the Gas Monkey crew have thrown down a challenge for Street Outlaws’ notorious Big Chief and the guys from Midwest Street Cars: build a car then hit the track to put them to the test and find out which crew comes out on top. Adding to the tension, both teams have less than three weeks to complete their builds under a very strict and limited budget.

Rawlings and his crew are renowned for their custom car builds, and for this race, it’ll be all hands on deck as nothing is left to chance in the bid to construct a winning race car. Taking on a challenge from outside their racing community, Big Chief (aka Justin Shearer) is risking his reputation as he sets out to prove his dominance over the motoring icon from Fast N’ Loud. And in a challenge of skills, Gas Monkey Garage’s master mechanic Aaron Kaufman will take on Street Outlaws’ FarmTruck and AZN in a hazard-riddled obstacle course of autocross and a tug-of-war.

Will one of America’s finest street racers leverage his technical racing skills to emerge victorious, or will Rawlings and his crew design an indomitable vehicle and cruise their way to a win? Both sides’ talent, experience and grit will come into play when Mega Race is simulcast on Discovery Channel and Discovery Turbo. Reputations are on the line.

After weeks of car-building, these two crews are ready to face off in California, but they also bid farewell to Gas Monkey’s beloved bearded wonder, Aaron, who’s making this his last project before he heads out on his own.

It’s the first ever Mega Race, and as the drivers strap up and pull to the line, they’ll be hitting the pedal hard in a bid for the top spot. Bragging rights are up for grabs, but which team will get the glory?
