Amazon suspends exec amid harassment allegations

Studio exec Roy Price suspended after allegations by producer on The Man in the High Castle.

Roy Price, vice-president of Amazon Studios and global head of Prime Video content, has been suspended following a harassment claim by Isa Hackett, a producer on Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.

“Roy Price is on leave of absence effective immediately,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement, adding, “We are reviewing our options for the projects we have with The Weinstein Co.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter  Hackett alleges a “shocking and surreal” experience with the programming chief in 2015.

“You will love my d***,” Price allegedly told her.

Hackett says she reported the incident immediately to Amazon executives. An outside investigator, was brought in to speak to Hackett as well as Amazon execs. Hackett says she was never told the outcome of that inquiry, but notes that she hasn’t seen Price at any events involving her shows.

“As somebody with some power, I feel it is imperative for me to speak out,“ said Hackett, who remains an executive producer on The Man in the High Castle, as well as Electric Dreams. “I want to call out [Price’s] behavior and also hold myself to a certain standard…. This incident has been looming and it’s difficult to shake it.“

Price, through a spokesperson, declined to comment.
