Apollo out, firming as 2018 Bachelor.

A favourite is out, and fans are heartbroken, but it's a win-win for the network's plans.

24 year old Queensland magician Apollo Jackson may have missed out on the chance to win Sophie Monk’s heart but he is already the front runner for The Bachelor 2018.

Monk last night chose Sydney publican Stuart Laundy, 44, and Victorian vineyard manager Jarrod Woodgate, 31. Tonight one will be chosen by the former Bardot singer.

It was an age gap between 37 year old Monk and the 24 year old magician that finally saw him eliminated from the show.

Jackson said, “I am really hurt. You can’t lose feelings for someone in an instant and I think it is going to take a little bit of time.

“I definitely saw a future with Sophie, a lot of fun and adventure in there, but at the end of the day it is her decision and I really respect that.”

But Jackson’s hunky appearance and ‘nice guy’ personality has been a winner with viewers and has already seen calls for him to be cast as The Bachelor in 2018.

“It would work, people have seen me on the show — I guess they’ve seen a snapshot but there’s so much more to me,” he told News Corp.

“I’m still looking for love but I’d want to attract the right girls who are in it for the right reasons.”

Aside from which, if he were the next Bach we would also get more screentime for his awesome granny.

  1. Despite being a mature 24 year old, not sure he’ll be ready to settle down, he thought marriage was 4-6 years away. So perhaps not the best choice for the right ending but appealing for viewers who find him attractive inside and out!

    1. Yes, Apollo and many of the other guys chosen as contestants this season have been far too young for Sophie. He and Sophie are at different crossroads in their lives.
Comes across as a nice, easy-going young guy but wonder if he was there for the right reasons – seems he’s using the show for the publicity and to kick start his “career.” The fact that he used his stage name instead of his real name on the show had me questioning how genuine he was.

  2. This season of the Bachelorette is the only one of the either this or the Bachelor I have watched (yes, I do hate myself for watching it). Is it usual that a contestant would be depicted as a creepy stalker for 2/3rds of the season and then end up in the final, and to my mind at least be favourite to win?

  3. Just a little error in the story, Sophie is 37 not 27. I always thought she was too old for him. She has had her fun and now wants to settle down. He is just starting out. Never going to work in my opinion. Oh I hope Jarrod doesn’t win !
