California fires halt production on 13 Reasons Why

At least 17 people are dead and over 20,000 people evacuated from Northern California.

Production on Season 2 of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why was shut down yesterday due to fires in Vallejo in Northern California.

The unplanned hiatus has been extended for two more days, but filming is due to resume on Sunday
Cast and crew members who wanted to leave have been flown home for the break as a courtesy since many of them reside in the fire zones.

At least 17 people are dead and over 20,000 people had been ordered to leave as entire neighbourhoods have been engulfed, especially in Northern California’s wine country.

Cast members tweeted about the disaster:

Devin Druid:
The NorCal/Bay Area has been my home for almost a year while filming @13ReasonsWhy. My heart goes out to all affected by these awful fires.

Dylan Minnette:
We film 13 Reasons Why in many of the areas in NorCal affected by these devastating fires. Sending love and thoughts to everyone involved.

13 Reasons Why is due to return in 2018.
