Exec producer departs ACA, new role at Nine.

Grant Williams to become Manager of News Content Development at Nine.

A Current Affair executive producer Grant Williams departing the show after eight and a half years but remaining with Nine as Manager of News Content Development.

The new role will encompass developing content strategies across all of Nine’s platforms.

“Grunter”, who was previously a police consultant on Water Rats, has worked closely with presenter Tracy Grimshaw, taking on Seven’s Today Tonight, before a switch to 7pm in 2014. In 2016 he was appointed Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs.

“I would like to personally thank Grant for his contribution to A Current Affair which is now firmly entrenched as Australia’s Number one nightly current affairs program and the dominant show in the enormously competitive 7pm primetime slot,” said Nine News boss Darren Wick.

“Robert Carmody will oversee the show, supported by our talented and hard-working senior team of Kate Donnison, Natasha Daran and John Gwinner.”

Williams begins his new position from Monday, 30 October.
