Kevin Spacey has come out as gay on Twitter following allegations levelled against him by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp.

But the House of Cards star’s statement has already been criticised for inadequately addressing the issues raised by Rapp, who claimed he was 14 when 26 year old Spacey made sexual advances.
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me,” Rapp alleged to Buzzfeed.
“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp continued. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
Dear fellow media:
Keep focus on #AnthonyRapp BE THE VICTIM'S VOICE. Help us level the playing field.

I keep rereading this statement and getting angrier. Coming out is a beautiful part of being gay. Attaching it to this vileness is so wrong.

Kevin Spacey has just invented something that has never existed before: a bad time to come out.

House of Cards came tumbling down…Netflix cancelled next series!
Not true – I recommend reading more than just click-bait headlines. Producers have already said that S6 was going to be the last. Response to, and ratings for, S5 are prob the reason why.
The dominoes are beginning to fall and the dark side of Hollywood is being illuminated like a drama scene from a movie, it will take some time to clean up the resulting publicity mess and the cost to the industry and some highly paid actors will be ongoing and considerable.
What a mixed up way to come out. This isn’t going to end well.
He made it about his coming out. Disgusting. Kevin is dead to me.
Well this should be interesting, will Hollywood try and deflect like Spacey has clearly botched doing here, or will they actually put their foot down on this issue for a change instead of walking past and letting the behavior continue unchecked
Here we go again, let’s hope Anthony Rapp is not the first of many….straight, gay whatever, its the person on the receiving end who suffers….
