Piers Morgan asks Mariah Carey for comment on Las Vegas tragedy

Singer was booked to promote her Christmas tour, but Live news made for a bizarre exchange.

A bizarre TV exchange on so many levels….

Mariah Carey was booked for a Live interview to Good Morning Britain but with the breaking news of the Las Vegas shooting tragedy -and Carey’s own experience in performing in Vegas- it unfolded in strange ways.

Piers Morgan was subsequently criticised for going there, while Carey has since tweeted, “Horrified to hear about the shooting in #LasVegas. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Praying for everyone’s safety.”

Prolific tweeter Morgan has since said, “Was I supposed to ask her about her Christmas tour?”

Had he ignored the news it would have also attracted criticism. Maybe a producer should have held off entirely?

  1. As you say, bizarre, but also pointless. Fans tuning in prob only want to hear about her tour and stuff they’ve prob already seen on social media, and people wanting to know more about the tragedy prob have little interest in what Carey’s thoughts are, especially when she’s been ambushed by the Q.

Not that Morgan appears to give a sh!t but I think it would’ve been better to have been criticised for not bringing it up or perhaps just making a passing mention of it at the beginning of the interview.
