Renewed: Ray Donovan
Sixth season of Liev Schreiber drama gets the nod, and relocates from LA to New York.

Well this is surprisingly good news…
Ray Donovan has been renewed for a sixth season -and relocating to New York.
The Liev Schreiber series, which has always been based in Los Angeles, is getting another 12 episodes with production to begin in early 2018.
The renewal comes just days before the Season 5 finale and demonstrates the Donovan family will continue despite the death of wife and mother Abby (Paula Malcomson).
“For our show, creatively, New York is exciting,” said showrunner David Hollander in a statement.
“Fashion, media, finance, theatre, culture. It’s going to present new challenges for Ray which means new opportunities for us as dramatists. Ray came to Los Angeles to build a life for himself and his family. They’re not there anymore. Ray’s career has changed and he is looking for a place to rebuild his life. Ray thinks he went to New York to help his daughter. He’s going to find out he’s there to help himself.”
Ray Donovan is currently airing in Australia on Showcase.

There’s only one more episode of the current run? I’d rather it just end now unless they’ve got some serious plans to get it back up to the standard of previous seasons.
Changing locations looks to me like the show is looking to revive itself, so the producers must see more life in the old dog yet.
