Rumour: Even more My Kitchen Rules?

Is Seven set to announce an MKR spin-off?

Tomorrow Seven will stage its “AllFronts” event to advertisers and media, unveiling a hefty content slate in Melbourne.

Seven’s biggest show is easily My Kitchen Rules, which dominated the first half of the year. This year there was some talk of fatigue so it will be interesting to hear how Seven will freshen it up.

Earlier this year there was speculation about putting all the contestants into a house, which Married at First Sight did last season.

But TV Tonight has also heard chatter about a possible MKR spin-off.

It could be a full year for Pete Evans and Manu Fieldel, who began hosting My Kitchen Rules New Zealand last month.

TV Tonight will be Live tweeting Seven’s event tomorrow after 1pm.

  1. I thought networks had generally seen and accepted that spin-offs caused viewer fatigue and ratings to plunge (after a while anyway)? MasterChef and The Block stopped it and look what heppened… MC got Number 1 non-sport program two years ago and Block the same last year (albeit behind Molly in consolidated).

So please, no, a big no.

    1. They did My BBQ Rules with that Texan MKR contestant a few years back.

Sure they didn’t call it “My BBQ Rules” (or some variation of that ) but that is basiclly what it was.
