SBS on Demand: Six

Inspired by actual events is the story of Navy SEAL Team 6, given a mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan.

On Thursday SBS on Demand premieres 2017 US drama Six, which tells the story of members of Navy SEAL Team 6, who are given a simple mission in 2014: eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan.

That task becomes more complicated when they discover that an American citizen who is working with the terror group as a jihadi fighter.

The series, which is inspired by actual events, is written by screenwriter William Broyles Jr. (Apollo 13) and military special operations veteran David Broyles.

It features Barry Sloane, Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba and Edwin Hodge.

This premiered on the History channel in the US in January.

Thursday, 5 October at SBS on Demand.

  1. Can’t see this doing too well. Apart from the fact it’s on SBS which few people watch (I do watch a lot of SBS incidentally), we seem to prefer our own heroes when it comes war themes and not American ones. Notorious for all- American square- jawed heroes and flag waving plus ridiculous amounts of ‘artistic license’ it’s no surprise.

  2. These action genre sows succeed or fail with the choice of athletic actors to play the leading roles, having a great upper body physique for taking shirts off helps as well.

  3. This got mixed reviews but I thought that I’d give it a look if I got the chance. Lesli Linka Glatter directed the first couple of eps.
