Its good to see Hard Quiz doing well. Its a great show
Ten really needs a radical overhaul of its drama. It has nothing to lose if the past years and poor audiences are any guide. Sisters is an embarrassment which makes Wonderland look like a masterpiece. I feel very sorry for the actors having to do this stuff. And why is it lit like a bad soap opera? Probably because it is. Rosehaven does have charm but a little more pace and story would help. The Letdown is monotonal. Adds nothing new or really funny to the well worn idea of a new motherhood/parenthood comedy.
Why not open up the Today co-hosting chair to anyone who wants to have a crack ? Send in your video resume clip and let the viewers decide. Could be a fun little competition spot anyway , and imagine finding Australia’s next TV talent at the same time. Oh , and pay them 100K a year, not a penny more and see if anyone notices.
How long before The Grand Tour is pushed back further to 10:30 and *insert cute animal/human* make you LOL is played.
The 10 figures for ‘Sisters’ were more like a collapse from last week than a mere fall!
Any reason Sisters can’t be on at 7.30? Would be a great point of difference and probably do better there.
I enjoyed The Letdown. It sometimes wanders slightly too close to the worst case scenario portrayal of motherhood, but just manages to keep to the right side.
Gruen could do without the attempted humour from Wil Anderson. We don’t have to laugh all the time
For that very reason, I switched to Gruen XL on iview. It’s about 12 mins longer and feels much less like every line is trying to set Will up for a gag.
Yep, he’s the reason i don’t watch it!
Ditto, don’t like him at all. Or his haircut, which seems to get blacker every time I see him.
Wednesdays have become a bit busy all of sudden. I caught up on Chicago Fire from Tuesday and watched some gruen, sisters and madam secretary. I’ve pvr riviera and rosehaven (haven’t watched season 2 as still watching season 1 on iview). I’ll also be watching the letdown on iview as wasn’t able to pvr with all of the clashes.
Is it my imagination, or do all ABC comedies use swearing to paper over the lack of comedy in them?
Can you please tell us the ratings for the Neighbours episode last night which had scenes filmed in Paris?
Sure 134k.
Thanks, David. With daylight saving arriving and weather improving, the show has now dropped out of the top 20 all week.
Could also be that people are now watching the Ten encore instead – seems to be about the difference in ratings.
Agreed. I can imagine Ten wouldn’t be happy. It is so similar
Ugh, a tough night for both 7 and 9 looks like Family Food Fight will be the last major stripped flop of 2017, sitting along side Biggest Loser and Last Resort.
Last nights episode was a lot better than the first two it is just too similar to MasterChef for me.
Haven’t seen last night’s ep but the Cake challenge did not strike me as hearty family fare. Does not fit the show’s own brief as far as I can see.
Exactly what I thought – now trying to be too much like Masterchef. I thought the show would be more about families cooking family food so that families at home could try as well. But now the Masterchef style “what’s in the cake” type stuff makes the show unappealing.
I dare say Instant Hotel will do similar!
Madam Secretary never rates well. Jamie Oliver does need to go
What does that say about Lisa Wilkinson’s pulling power. Think her appeal was grossly overrated.Always some one in the wings to replace you .
It might say more about presenters themselves meaning little to audiences? Which ever has a better presentation of the core news, sport, weather and traffic is where people will turn to. Both breakfast shows so fickle. Averages don’t give a clear picture at all. Would love to see reach numbers.
What it shows is ratings have not plummentes since she left.. it also shows that people will watch a show regardless of the presenters so there is no valid reason to pay a host millions to talk crap from an autocue & laugh each morning!
Ouch! Massive drop for Sisters. Dismal return for Madam Secretary considering the result of a US drama the night before.
Sisters seems to be going the same was as Wonderland. I saw the segment on Gogglebox about it, and it looked like a ridiculous scenario for a potential long-running drama.
We should note Gogglebox enjoyed Sisters.
I actually hadn’t planned on watching sisters but heard some good feedback on here and in real life so gave it a go. Thought the first 2 episodes albeit way too long and should not have aired together quite good but last nights episode wasn’t as good and had some boring lulls. I’m going to continue it for now. Its nice to see gogglebox covering a drama something they haven’t really done this season.
Great show but wrong timeslot for getting me to remember it’s on when I am focussing on ABC’S proven schedule
Sunrise and Today virtually neck-and-neck!
They usually are neck and neck both are fickle and gimmicks. Just shows paying Lisa more money doesnt bring in big ratings. Karl should be scared. They could replace him with someone on 100k a year save alot of money.
A hollow log with series of Post-It notes stuck on it would be even cheaper…
Hehehe and do you think anyone will notice?
Karl’s hairdresser would notice…
