Wolf Creek star John Jarratt has denied allegations of sexual assault dating back to the 1970s, according to media reports.
“Police are investigating an allegation of a historical sexual assault on Sydney’s eastern beaches,” a police spokesman told The Daily Telegraph.
“The allegations were reported to police earlier this month and relate to a matter from the 1970s.”
A woman who worked in the industry made a statement to Shoalhaven police in NSW about a week ago, the article notes.
Jarratt’s management Ignite Elite Artists said in a statement, “John emphatically and completely denies the allegations of sexual assault.
“These allegations are completely unfounded and untrue.”
Season 2 of Wolf Creek is due to have its premiere screening in Sydney next Thursday, ahead of its return to Stan in December.
Season 1 is currently screening on Nine.
