First look at new logo as part of a refreshed SBS World News.

SBS World News is getting a refresh and this logo will soon begin appearing on air and in guides.

At their 2018 Upfronts this week, presenter Janice Petersen said, “In 2018 SBS News will once again provide global news that impacts all Australians across television, radio and digital platforms, but with a bold new look, reflecting the digital evolution in media, including our logo, graphics and also our set.

“We are also on the verge of releasing a new SBS News app.”

SBS Managing Director Michael Ebeid also told guests, “Besides SBS being the most distinctive media network – our news services are also the most trusted out of the Seven, Nine and TEN Networks, according to the latest Essential NewsPoll – in fact we saw an increase in trust levels over the last year compared to a decline across the commercial networks.”

Can someone explain what is SBS existence it’s being why do we need an SBS anymore .why do we have sbs.the letters stand for special broadcasting service it was originally set up to provide migrants of non English speaking backgrounds programmes in their own language that was and is it’s charter .it does none of that today mostly not apart from the world news service in the mornings in different languages , during the day and in prime time all the foreign language programmes it use to broadcast are all gone replaced with regular English programming offered elsewhere from the USA or England .i
    SBS is now chasing ratings and chasing the non ethnic viewer it’s time to stop govt funding and let it be self funded .we don’t need a poor mans ABC we have the ABC .its a waste of tax payers money becuase it refuses to adhear to its charter of providing non English speaking programming for…
