The Feed: End of year special

Mark Humphries and Evan Williams hijack Thursday's show with a "Privatise Now" special.

The Feed wraps up its 2017 broadcast year tomorrow night with a “Privatise Now” special “hijacked” by Mark Humphries and Evan Williams, with appearances by Ray Martin, Andrew Gaze, Lanard Copeland and several SBS faces.

You have been warned.

The Feed’s satirical writing team of Mark Humphries and Evan Williams are hijacking the final episode of The Feed this year for 26 minutes of mildly amusing comedy and four minutes of hilarious advertising.

Aspiring Logie Award seat-filler Mark Humphries will star in the episode, looking back on the year in politics, sport and entertainment.

“Something like this has never been done before,” said Humphries moments before being told about Charlie Brooker’s Yearly Wipe.

Australian icon Ray Martin will present the first in a new series of sketches called “Great Moments in Australian History”, finally achieving his lifelong dream of hosting a two minute segment on a youth current affairs show broadcast on a secondary channel.

“Between the two of us, Ray Martin and I have won 5 Gold Logies,” said a proud Mark Humphries.

Sydney Kings coaches Andrew Gaze and Lanard Copeland star in a new documentary about Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s basketball shooting skills. Meanwhile, the year in sport will be covered by Tugger, an NRL legend currently having a media career resurgence after being found not guilty of indecently exposing himself to a miniature daschund.

The show also features appearances by The Feed’s more qualified presenters Jan Fran, Pat Abboud, Laura Murphy-Oates and Michael Hing, while Marc Fennell sits down for a tell-all interview with the notoriously publicity-shy Marc Fennell (Triple J, Hungry Beast, ScreenTime, Download This Show, Westfield Chatswood, Woolworths Aisle 3, etc.).

Plus, legitimate SBS personalities Janice Petersen, Lucy Zelic and Mike Tomalaris also appear.

When it’s over, you too will be saying “Privatise Now”.

7.30pm, Thursday 23 November on SBS VICELAND
