TV docs dominate in penultimate ratings week
Ratings: It's a 1 - 2 - 3 victory for TV's doctors in the house.

With just one more week to go in the 2017 ratings year, Seven has claimed another win.
The Good Doctor managed #1 & #2 across the week, with ABC’s Doc Martin at #3.
In contrast the next best scripted title was Home & Away at #22. In between was a lot of news, current affairs & sport.
Seven won all 5 cities and almost every night, save for Nine’s Ashes proving too strong on Saturday. It was a disappointing week for TEN with its primary channel under the symbolic 10% share.

Seven: The Good Doctor (Tues: 1.13m), Seven News (968,000), Sunday Night (696,000) and Rugby League World Cup (Semi Final: 671,000 in 3 cities).
Nine: Nine News (Sat: 992,000), The Ashes (Session 3: 832,000), 60 Minutes (732,000), A Current Affair (688,000).
ABC: Doc Martin (1.05m), ABC News (Sun: 907,000), Australian Story (783,000) and Four Corners (713,000).
TEN: Have You Been Paying Attention? (698,000), Gogglebox (566,000), The Project (7pm: 433,000) and TEN Eyewitness News (428,000).
SBS: Great American Railroad Journeys (344,000), Great British Railway Journeys (301,000), Insight (269,000) and Food Safari Earth (238,000).

The Good Doctor has proved that US dramas can still be a major event, with the right script. Also showing the final TV quarter does matter and can change a lot. Seven will be (and should be) very happy with that. Food Fight has been Nine’s problem child, plus some later night shows not firing. Poor old Ten, really sad to see, they gave up ages ago, after an up/down year, Bachelorette finale their last huge night. ABC are holding on with popular Over 55s dramas.
