Veteran US actor Earle Hyman, best known for The Cosby Show, has died, aged 91.
He died on Friday at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in New Jersey. A cause of death has not been reported.
Hyman (pictured centre) played Cliff Huxtable’s father Russell on US sitcom in 40 episodes over its nine-season run.
In addition to his work on The Cosby Show, he was the voice of Panthro on the 1980s cartoon Thundercats.
Additional TV credits included All My Children, A Different World and The Defenders.
Hyman was also known for his stage work winning a Tony award as Best Featured Actor in a Play in Edward Albee’s The Lady From Dubuque.
