2017: In Memoriam

TV icons, childhood heroes and quiet achievers.... a fond farewell.

2017 thankfully may not have eclipsed 2016 in terms of celebrity deaths, but there were still some deep losses both locally and internationally.

Much-loved Australian faces we farewelled included actors, presenters and performers in drama, news, light entertainment, sport and music. Some were icons, others were pioneers. Internationally there were many nostalgic faces including from our childhood.

But there were also writers, producers, directors, executives, composers and publicists.

We should never forget their contribution to the arts, whether behind or in front of the camera.
