Apple TV adds Amazon Prime Video

The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Tick now available through Amazon app on Apple TV.

An Amazon Prime Video app is now available on Apple TV 4K and previous generations of Apple TV in Australia.

Aussie Apple TV owners can access Amazon Original Movies and Prime Originals including The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Tick, and a host of upcoming content including the premiere of Jean-Claude Van Johnson on December 15 and Jack Ryan in 2018.

“There is nothing that excites us more than delighting our customers, and we are thrilled for them to stream Prime Video on Apple TV,” said Mark Eamer, Vice President of Amazon Prime Video. “The app arrives just in time for the highly anticipated new season of The Grand Tour, which launches on December 8th, and Prime Video members streaming on the Apple TV 4K will have the exceptional viewing experience of 4K HDR.”

Amazon retails in Australia at an introductory price of $2.99 USD a month for the remainder of 2017, and USD$5.99 in 2018 and also comes with a free trial.

  1. The App came up on my Samsung TV and it is USD$2.99 a month for 6 months with the free trial; then USD$5.99 a month thereafter, that was last week and it’s still at that now price point now.

  2. Apple TV have finally come to the party with their new 4K box it should allow a lot more HDR content including Dolby Vision but any prospective buyer should read up on the device first as it has a number of HD options including SDR which will likely suit most TV’s for streaming.

  3. I’ve got two atv3’s and an atv2

    I bet they only released for their latest incarnation

    Their wacky updates and lack of support for older hardware is why I’ve moved from them in all facets

    I’ll watch on one of my other platforms
