Axed: Haters Back Off

Comedy featuring Colleen Ballinger as Miranda Sings ends at 2 seasons.

Netflix has axed US comedy series Haters Back Off after 2 seasons.

The series delved into the oddball family life of Miranda Sings (Colleen Ballinger). An incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise, Sings continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous, it’s just no one knows it yet.

Despite getting off a solid start last year, Ballinger’s huge YouTube following did not quite translate into a streaming audience, Deadline notes.

It is unclear whether YouTube, which over the last year entered the high-end scripted space, might possibly step in to pick it up.

  1. What a shame. I only discovered this a week or so ago and I think it’s great fun. The grotesque ‘Strangers With Candy’ level of absurd comedy it has would never broadly appeal but is an excellent satire of internet created fame-obsessed wannabes. Sadly the haters won…

  2. I watched one episode and to me it wasn’t a good show. Moment where she was supposed to be funny just made me feel sorry for the parents in the show. Not sure how it got 2 seasons. I feel like this will be something YouTube Red (YouTube’s subscription service, not the porn website) might try to pick up
